So this is a recipe that I found on the Prima blog a few years back, it is again so very easy and so very yummy! Check it out here:
Prima Christmas Tin and Oreo Cookie Truffles courtesy of Brittany Laakkonen
I hope that this is getting your creative wheels turning on some inexpensive yet yummy gifts to give for the holidays. I truly believe that hand made shows a certain quality that store bought just can not replicate.
I will try and whip up some samples of this truffle recipe to share pics with you all this weekend... Until then enjoy your sweet treats!

Once again, I bring you peppermint cookie crunch bark...
Back by popular demand!
So I have noticed that my site has been getting hits on my oldie but goody recipe for Peppermint Cookie Crunch bark. So I thought I would re-post it for our new friends to see. This was a recipe that I so easily developed after a trip to the cake decorating shop. I tried a sample of their peppermint bark and immediately thought, IT NEEDS OREOS! And so a yummy treat was born! Now not only is this a totally yummy treat, BUT it is also very inexpensive and highly addicting (like legal chocolate crack, seriously). So here it is, once again...

Peppermint Cookie Crunch Bark
1 lb. white chocolate melts
1/2 cup of peppermint crunch
1/2 cup of crushed oreos
Directions:
put white chocolate melts in a Pyrex dish and melt for 30 seconds and then mix. Continue to melt in 15 seconds increments until chocolate is smooth.
add crushed oreos and peppermint crunch and mix thoroughly.
lay out on waxed paper and spread out evenly to a 1/4 in thick layer.
let dry and harden for 45 minutes.
break up into pieces and eat till you get sick!
It also tastes really yummy melted in some hot chocolate! (seriously, this is awesome!)
Enjoy!

This is great for gifts. I split one batch of these up between 2-4 friends and it is always a hit!
The supplies you can get @ any cake store or even make yourself. Just make sure that they white chocolate is meltable (I think they sell this @ the grocery store or even @ joann's and Micheal's if you don't have a cake store handy). I even made my own oreo crunch by putting oreos in a zip lock bag and hitting it with a rubber mallet. Just make sure all of the air is out of the bag or else it will explode. You can do the same with the peppermint crunch, just use candy canes. And if they stick together use a little powdered sugar to coat the lightly.
have fun creating!

Welcome Heidi Swapp!
Phew! FINALLY I can share with you all what we have been working towards at Tattered Angels. For the last couple of months it has been so very hard not to share with ANYONE that we have a new angel on staff at Tattered Angels. It is my pleasure to welcome Heidi Swapp to the Tattered Angels team! Heidi has been working with the team the last few months towards creating products for her "Exclusively Heidi Swapp By Tattered Angels" Collection. This has been so fun to see evolve and to be able to be a part of. Heidi's collection will not only add to the elegance that is Tattered Angels, it will also take Tattered Angels in a fresh direction that I know you will LOVE!
Here is a sneak of what is to come (I grabbed this from Heidi's site) Of course it wouldn't be a Tattered Angels Collection without some good ol' Glimmer Mist!
Heidi's Collection will offer 4 new colors of Glimmer Mist:
Electric Blue- A vivid turquoise blue with a golden glimmer
Viva Pink- a vibrant hot pink with a blackish gold glimmer
Silver Sugar- a soft silvery grey with a opalescent silver glimmer
Black Magic- a charcoal black with a golden glimmer
This is just the beginning! Get ready for Tattered Angels LARGEST release to date! And it is going to be BIG! There are a few things that I have been working on for Tattered Angels that I am so excited to share with everyone, believe me when I say that Tattered Angels is up to a whole lot of GOOD!
And of course, I can't wait to share with you all the wonderful colors that Heidi has come up with, so how about a giveaway?
Leave a comment on this thread and I will randomly pick a winner for Heidi's new colors. I will pick a winner Wednesday morning.
Thanks for sharing with the fun, I hope you were able to check out the Tattered Angels blog for the fun brain teasers were hinted to this past week. We really had a fun time introducing our new angel to everyone!
Thanks for peeking!

Wear your ADHESIVE on the OUTSIDE!
Have I told you lately how much I LOVE SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L? Well you probably already know, but I never get tired of saying it! I was asked by Kerri their marketing director to help out with some projects to decorate their new offices with, here are a few that I did for this second round of projects.

For this project I used the back side of a piece of art canvas (you can find this in an art supply store around their paper tablets) because it was not Gesso-ed and sprayed Glimmer Mist in Dazzling Diamonds. This is a new color of Glimmer Mist that has a clear base and a vintagey blue opalescent glimmer to it (the glimmer reminds me of a string of pearls). This gave the raw canvas a beautiful opalescent glimmer. I then stitched the border with black thread (this was so tough because I actually had to be neat about it!). The Butterflies were die-cutted out with a Martha Stewart punch that I got at Micheal's (Monarch is the name of the punch). I then used re-positionable adhesive by SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L and adhered the butterflies down to white paper as I used the butterflies as a guide to cut out the white paper. After I was done, I removed the white papers and misted each one a different color using Glimmer Mist. I then created my title with Tattered Angels Framed Font Alphabets and Cinder Glimmer Mist. I used SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES 3D Foam Squares in black (I used the little ones and cut them in half) to tuck underneath the wings of the butterflies to make them appear to be in flight. This was such a simple project and I thought it would be perfect for a wall hanging, just add it to a piece of cardboard for stability and there you go!
BLOOM

This picture, kinda stinks (sorry) but it is the full version.
This project was oooohhhh so much fun! For this project I used The Wizard by Spellbinders to cut out these great flowers. Before I cut them out, I used an Adhesive Sheet by SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L and added it to a 12x12 piece of white paper. I then cut the paper in half and ran it through the Wizard using a variety of different sizes of blooms. After I had all of my shapes, I then removed the protective covering off of my blooms and covered them in glitters of all sorts of colors! I created some non adhesived shapes as well and misted those so that I would have a Glimmer along side the glittered sparkle. From here I took my BFF's the 3D Foam Squares and some Craft and Photo Tape (OK so I lied, I think the craft and photo tape is really my BFF!) and adhered my blooms to a piece of 12x12 black cardstock for a nice PUNCH of color.
So here are a few pretties to look at, I have a few others that I will post soon!
I just love getting crafty with my adhesive and showing how you can wear your adhesive on the outside and not just hide it behind stuff!
XOXO

Home for the Holidays...
Well this past week has gone by so quickly! We were able to make it home for Thanksgiving this year. We actually worked out a wicked little scheme with James' father to surprise the rest of his family. It was perfect, at the airport were James' father and sister Katie, whom did not know about our arrival so when we snuck up behind her and said surprised her she began to cry ♥ It made all of us cry! To top it off we drove home and hid behind the car as James' mom came out and were able to surprise her as well. Again, there were tears ♥ how it felt so good to see our family again!
Here we are on our way riding the subway (according to the kids, it is the tram at DIA)
Sweet little guy and his Ninies, never leave home without it!
Our Denver sunset, the camera never does it justice.
James and the kiddos
sweet baby boy...
So here is a picture of the gang on our way into Knott's (AKA snoopy's house) I love the affection between the cousins
Of course a big hug for snoops himself
riding the merry go round...

James with his parents
Being held up by some rascally bandits
"Seriously, do you think you are getting a high five dude? you just tried to steal my milk money!"
flying boy
and a sleepy girl
For Thanksgiving we spent the day with James family, although we didn't take many pictures, I managed to catch a few, this one of our little dancing girl who brought her dance leotard just to dance with James' cousin who is a ballerina.
Of course a girl can only take so much, so she must sleep ☺
James was able to find some time to surf, one of the things he misses the most about leaving California. He took his sister to the beach and she captured these great shots. Here is a beautiful sand dollar.
Here is one of him on his board
and another of him walking back in from a set
And on a very special day, James' cousin took Jackson and James up in his airplane. Isn't it beautiful?
Here is Chris buckling Jackson into the front seat
That sweet face
paying attention on how to take off
holding tight
the view of the Queen Mary
another gorgeous view

We also got to visit a bit with my family, although by that time our camera had died... so I wasn't able to take some good pics :( We will be back in California for the Scrapbook Expo and for CHA in January. I look forward to catch up again with our loved ones.
Now that we are back in the swing of things, I was able to work on our Christmas cards this week. Here is the digital portion (artwork provided by House of 3 word art created with various fonts from Dafont.com) these two elements will be on a card that will nest inside of the physical scrapbook card.

Once I get the finals done, I will post a pic. After a few years of either no Christmas card or one of the run of the mill target Christmas prints... I thought it was time to give it the good old homemade try.
Well there is our trip in a nut shell. I have come up with a few ideas for some holiday craft and treat ideas. One that I am really happy about has to do with bacon and chocolate... yup you heard me right... just wait... it rocks!
If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see let me know, I can always use the help to organize the many thoughts that are in my mind!
I hope your thanksgiving was full of gratitude and that you were truly given a chance to be blessed.
XOXO
